Put loops of masking tape on the back.
Now you can easily move the template around until you're satisfied with the layout.
Mark the wall at the top and centre of the template.
For light pictures, use a sawtooth picture hanger or the built-in hanger.
Hammer a nail and picture hook into the wall at the place you marked and hang your picture.
Larger pictures need extra support.
Use a stud finder to locate a wall stud and mark where the stud is.
This may affect where the picture can be hung.
For larger pictures, use the frame's hardware or braided wire threaded through screw-eyes.
Measure from the top of the picture frame to the top of the braided wire.
Measure down the same distance from the mark you made with the stud finder.
This is where you will put in the screw to hold the painting.
Use anchors for extra security if there is no stud where you want to hang the picture.
Drill a hole slightly smaller than the plug, and tap the anchor into place.
Fasten the screw through the plug.
Hang your picture and use the laser level to make sure it's straight.
The laser level makes hanging a row of pictures easy.
A final check and your gallery is finished!
You can get everything you need to hang pictures...
...at Canadian Tire
