Office – Clear Dry Erase Paint

Hi everyone! I’m Vanessa Sicotte from Damask & Dentelle. I love to have a whiteboard in an office, but I don’t love the way they look. So I went to Canadian Tire and picked up this product called RustOleum clear dry erase paint, It allowed me to create a reusable blank canvas for brainstorming. The cool thing about the clear paint, is that I didn’t have to sacrifice the wall colour. Just be sure to only use dry eraser markers.

I cleaned the wall thoroughly with soap and water and let it dry. Then I used some painter’s tape to mark the edges of where I was painting. Since I used clear paint, I didn’t need to start with primer.

So there were a couple steps that I had to follow. After putting on my gloves the instructions said to mix part A and part B together thoroughly. This is what they call “activating” the dry erase paint, so don’t mix them until you’re ready to start painting. Once they were mixed, I only had 90 minutes to paint the wall. I used a dense foam roller to give the wall surface a smooth finish.

When I started painting with it I was like, “Why is it white?” But I realized that it dries clear.

After I was done painting, the wall took about an hour to dry. At that point, I just removed the painter’s tape. According to the instructions, I still had to wait 2 more days before I could use dry erase markers on it. Once it’s dry you can get creative.

Now you have an entire wall to just get your ideas out, whenever they strike you. Make lists, draw pictures, do some quick math. And when you’re done, it wipes off easily with a soft cloth.

Now the office is chic, stylish and functional. I included some coordinated accessories in a complimentary colour, including a vase I painted myself using a cool product called Plasti-dip.
