How to install gutter protection

You know what’s better than cleaning out your gutters? Pretty much everything. Want to avoid this task? Try installing some gutter protection. It’s easy. You got this.

1. Grab a pair of glove and set up your ladder. Make sure it’s on solid footing and if you’re using an extension ladder make sure it is secured against the wall.

2. Carefully climb the ladder with your garden hose in tow.

3. Use your hands to pull out the bigger obstructions and some of the heaving sticks and leaves.

4. Now use the garden hose to wash away as much of the gunk and grime as possible.

5. You may need to reposition the ladder a few times in order to reach all areas of the gutters.

6. Ensure your downspout isn’t clogged before you install your gutter protection.

Now you’re ready to install the gutter protection.

7. Grab a piece of the aluminum gutter protector, ensuring the drip foot, or back edge, fits snugly against the back of the gutter.

8. Now, flex the shield slightly inward, and connect the front edge of the gutter-locking shield to the gutter lip.

9. That’s it. Overlap each piece a little at the end and match up notched areas with previous sections to ensure nothing slips through the cracks.

With gutter protectors in place, you should see a dramatic reduction in the amount of gunk and grime that ends up in your gutters, which means you won’t need to clean them nearly as often. We told you it was easy. You got this.
